Raspberry Pi Pico 2W on the go!
Have you ever wanted an easy way to keep your Raspberry Pi Pico setup tidy, or a simple kit you can take with you on your commute or when you travel? I found myself wanting exactly that, so I put together a small assortment box that fits everything I need to start developing anywhere.
Inside my little kit, I keep:
- 2 Raspberry Pi Pico 2W boards - Always good to have a backup ;)
- A male-to-male micro-USB to USB-A adapter for easy connectivity between the Pico board and the laptop
- A Raspberry Pi Debug Probe
- A USB stick with a portable Thonny installation
- 2 USB-A to USB-C adapters, so I can plug USB stick or cable into modern laptops that only have USB-C ports
The images below show the small assortment box I use. When closed, it’s small enough to slip into a backpack, and when opened, it provides me access to everything I need to start coding on the go:

It’s a tiny setup, but it keeps me productive even when I only have a couple of minutes. If you would see an upgrade to my kit (or you have your own kit), don’t hesitate to let me know in the comments below!
Update I’ve also added a Raspberry Pi Pico 2 to my kit, I just love this compact setup! :)
